Mezipatra is happening! It will just be a little different than you’re used to… In these pandemic times, we have no other choice than to move to the virtual world.
What will it look like? The festival will start on November 5 with the opening ceremony, streamed live at Moje kino LIVE. It will be followed by the opening film, German No Hard Feelings about the difficulties of finding your identity when you’re an immigrant and queer on top of that.
Before the beginning of the 21st Mezipatra, we would love to invite you to the screening of our distribution film Lola on November 2, 2020 at 8:00 p.m. on the Moje kino LIVE platform. Since its launch in 2019, the second feature film by Belgian director Laurent Micheli has reaped success and critical acclaim, including a nomination for the Magritte Award in seven categories. The emotional transformation of the main character in the film was convincingly portrayed by the beginning actress Mya Bollaers, who won the significant Magritte Award for Best Actress. You can buy tickets for the screening at GoOut.cz for CZK 100 (or more if you want to support our festival).
Do you also miss visiting the cinema? Then we invite you to a unique screening of the film And Then We Danced on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at 8:00 p.m. on the Moje kino LIVE platform. The sincere drama, which won Audience Award on last year's Mezipatra, caused a wave of conservative protests in director Levan Akin's native Georgia and at the same time won a number of awards, including Best Film at the Odessa IFF and Best Director at the Sarajevo IFF. Don't miss the screening that will make you dance in your living room! You can buy tickets on GoOut.cz for CZK 100 (or more, if you want to support our festival). The film will be screened in its original version with Czech subtitles only.
This year we will not visit cinemas to see the films of the 21st Mezipatra. Due to the current situation, we are moving the entire film program to the online environment. All the films you would like to visit at Mezipatra can be stream from the comfort of your home. The price of one film will be lower than for physical screenings (CZK 80 for one film) and there will also be packages for film fans available to those who would like to see everything.
It's out! We have revealed the program of this year's festival. This year we will screen the films online (more information coming soon) and the accompanying events will take place physically or online depending on the situation (follow our website for up-to-date information). Everything we have prepared for you this year can be found in the PROGRAM section. The selection of films is in the spirit of the theme of the year "Recovery", which draws attention to the mental and physical health of the queer community. What can you look forward to?
Dear festival visitors, we would like to assure you that the film program will take place according to plan and in accordance with the regulations, i.e. November 5-12, 2020 in Prague and November 14-21, 2020 in Brno. According to the Resolution of the Government of the Czech Republic No. 958 on the adoption of a crisis measure, cinemas can fill a capacity of up to 500 spectators, which applies to all our festival cinemas. We will certainly follow the rules that protect you and those around you (e.g. wearing face masks, using disinfectant), but you will keep your favorite festival. The State Fund of Cinematography of the Czech Republic wrote a clear explanation for the field of audiovisual, where you can read the details.
