Hustler White
Special EventThe film opens with a shot of a dead prostitute named Monti floating in a pool. His voice speaks to the viewers and tells authentic stories about male escort services and the Hollywood porn industry. From the opening credits, we know that this will be an epic trash ride full of dark humour, prostitutes and their clients. Apart from the pornographic pieces and exploitation scenes, the film offers a very spot-on satirical subtext, commenting on the world of male prostitution. The plot can also be perceived as a reminiscence of the legendary Sunset Boulevard and an homage to classical Hollywood. The film emanates LaBruce's fondness for shocking people and destroying taboos. Despite scenes full of sexual fetishes, BDSM practices and group sex, it is, however, an original piece that combines techniques of New Queer Cinema and American independent film.
