Leo is a blind teenager who is completely fed up with everybody trying to protect him. On top of everything, his best girl friend, teases him for his taste in music (solely classical!) and for the fact that he has yet to kiss someone. Then a new classmate, Gabriel, joins the class and wants to help Leo with homework, take him to the cinema, watch the Lunar eclipse, and dance to a song by his favorite group, Belle & Sebastian. The winner of the Teddy Award Jury Prize for best queer film at this year's Berlinale, numerous audience prizes at festivals worldwide, and Brazil's candidate for Oscar for the Best Foreign Language Film.
And since Gabriel also takes Leo to the cinema, there will be a unique opportunity to see “The Way He Looks” at this year's Mezipatra at a special screening with Czech audio-description for visually impaired viewers. We also recommend this to sighted viewers who would like to experience the screening from Leo's point of view (a blindfold will be available at the cinema's entrance). This special screening takes place on November 9th (Prague) and 21st (Brno), with Czech only audio.
