Prague is more than just Charles Bridge or the Prague Castle. Prague is, above all, a lively city. And that's also thanks to Mezipatra!
Visit our festival
Mezipatra is the largest queer film festival in the Czech Republic, visited by tens of thousands viewers and guests from all over the world throughout its existence. Visitors can see a selection of today's best live-action and documentary films centred around queer issues. And the festival also includes accompanying program, packed not only with discussions with experts, but also wild parties where you have the chance to meet the locals.
Tickets for films are available online in the Program section and at the cinema box offices. If you're interested in tickets for the festival opening or closing, hurry up. These events, together with the weekend screenings, are in demand the most. Lucerna and Světozor cinemas are just a short walk apart, directly in the city centre. And you can reach Pilotů cinema by tram in a few minutes.
Accomodation and places
And so that you can feel really at home, we've prepared a few tips so that you safely avoid all tourist traps. After you arrive, check in at Jan Hotels - Hotel Leonardo located in the Old Town close to the main festival area. If you make a reservation through this site, you will get a special 30 % discount! Those looking for other options may use i.e. the vast selection of Airbnb apartments.
Apart from the very centre, you can explore also residential quarters such as the hipster Letná or the popular Vinohrady. This neighborhood is also well-known for its high number of gay-friendly venues. And you can continue the film marathon with a dance one. The famous duo of Termix and Termax gay clubs won't certainly let you down. And there's also the Ankali club in Vršovice for electronic music fans, where one of the Mezipatra parties will take place as well.
For a more relaxed drink, you can visit Boudoir bar or Patra community café, a newly-opened home venue of Mezipatra. It is also the festival's centre, hosting the accompanying program, and you will definitely meet there the organization team. And one more thing, it's pretty close to the festival as well. Pilotů cinema, which is one of the festival's cinemas, is located just a few steps from the café.
Food in Prague
If you get hungry after the screenings, or if you're looking for a place to relieve the hangover, visit some of the Lokál restaurants. Lokál offers traditional Czech cuisine, relying on high-quality ingredients. And you should definitely enjoy a cold Pilsner beer.

Even those avoiding meet won't suffer in Prague. Loving Hut vegan bistro chain is exactly the healthy alternative you're looking for. Another option for vegetarians and vegans is offered by Lehká hlava restaurant in the Old Town, Chutnej bistro, or Plevel restaurant in Vršovice, close to Pilotů Cinema. To get a good coffee or a nice breakfast in the close proximity of Lucerna and Světozor cinemas, visit Cafe~Cafe or many others in the area.
Things to bring back home
And each journey deserves some cool memorabilia. The festival shop directly in the cinemas offers some cool merchandising. The stylish socks, scarves and T-shirts, created in cooperation with artist Eliška Podzimková, are a great alternative to the matryoshkas and ushankas occupying the touristic centre.
