At Kino Petrohradská on October 17th, we unveiled the trailer for the 25th annual Mezipatra, created for us by director Lenka Karaka. You can also find the trailer on our social media, and you’ll be able to fully enjoy it at all festival screenings. And perhaps you’ll even catch it on TV!

The central theme consists of the seven colors of the rainbow, a symbol of queer identity. "Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet. None of the colors are missing from the trailer, and I dedicated one image to each, where it somehow takes center stage," explains Lenka Karaka.

"Ordinary" scenes—whether it’s applying makeup in front of a mirror, hanging laundry, or a soccer game—are made unique by the diverse characters and the effect of frame-by-frame layering. "This way, we see the characters in rising layers, which points to the ambiguity of our own bodily form, our history, and the ability to perceive oneself as an entity without fixed boundaries, moving freely in space," says the director.

Each scene becomes a piece in the mosaic of diverse self-expression, while together they create a certain unity: "A world where we feel good. Whoever we may be."
