Saturday and Sunday were not only about movies but also our accompanying program. In addition to discussions within 'Queering the Industry,' where you could meet talented filmmakers, we celebrated the festival weekend in style at our biggest party at Planeta Za & Pluto club. However, Mezipatra is far from over. What you shouldn't miss and which movie should you still go see?

BONES AND NAMES

Where do the stories end, and where does reality begin? Actor Boris immerses himself in the unfaithful character of a film being prepared, while his partner Jonathan constructs a tragic tale within the pages of his novel. In bedrooms, supermarkets, and rehearsal rooms, both touch reality like an elusive piece of fabric. How far can you go when you don't want to face the unpleasant reality of a relationship at a dead end? German director Fabian Stumm will personally present his debut film in Prague, where he also takes on one of the main roles.

SMALLTOWN BOYS

Gay life in the countryside is in many ways different from metropolitan life. A trio of French small towns tells three stories that prove this. A group of drag performers arrives to perform at a bar in Vendeuvre-Sur-Barse. They find assistance from a local gay couple – and one of them, Youcef, unexpectedly captivates the group. In the town of La Chapelle Saint-Mesmin, a teenager wakes up after a wild night. He checks his phone and sees a message from a guy inviting him over. So, he puts on his heels and heads to his destination! The final story takes place in Hermoy at the home of photographer Mathieu, who invited the younger Jonas for a nude photoshoot. Jonas is surprised to find out it wasn't just an excuse for sex. Director Gäel Lépingle, who is also a guest at the festival, presents us with a calm and focused narrative drama about men who are, metaphorically and literally, at a crossroads.

BLUE JEAN

Dating an activist for queer rights while secretly hiding that you're a lesbian? Charming gym teacher Jean managed to pull it off surprisingly well until now. Coming out would have cost her job during Margaret Thatcher's era. But can one stand idly by while one of her students is bullied due to her lesbian orientation? After all, who else has a greater responsibility to intervene than her? The struggle between her own conscience and the instinct to save her career complicates Jean's relationship. So, it becomes clear to her that it can't go on like this. This exploration of a young woman's soul brings '80s retro aesthetics and plenty of powerful moments.

On Wednesday at 7:00 PM, the festival's closing ceremony will take place at Lucerna cinema, along with the announcement of the main jury prize. Following that, there will be a screening of the documentary "Irish Queen" about Panti Bliss, a charismatic and witty drag queen from Ireland, who gained worldwide recognition during the 2015 marriage equality referendum.
