Saturday in Kino Pilotů will be in the spirit of German-speaking countries. You can enjoy a parade of experimental shorts from Austria, Inside the Kaleidoscope, or Bliss by director Henrika Kull. The film from this year’s Berlinale depicts a loving relationship of two prostitutes in an original way and without scruples.
But the admirers of beautiful male bodies will have their fill as well. Bare documentary follows the preparation of a dance performance by the Belgian choreography genius Thierry Smits. Eleven naked men and one dancing instructor examine complex and often taboo topics through nudity and dance.
Being BeBe is a documentary which also promises aesthetic delights. The film observes fifteen years in the life and career of one of the most famous drag queens, BeBe Zahara Benet. You can enjoy this intimate and touching story about a tenacious desire to succeed without losing oneself in Světozor at 20:30.
Saturday is also dedicated to the Queering the Industry program section. The lectures and discussions may teach you about the organization of queer festivals, and a lot of interesting facts about the work of a British queer casting agency. The Saturday Standing by the Board workshop for teachers and parents focuses on education in queer and gender topics. And the icing on the Saturday off program is Mezipatra’s main party, Opulence, starring Berlin DJ and activist Luz, and Ankali resident Eva Porating.
