My Life in Pink / Ma vie en rose
RetrospectiveSome girls love dolls, pink color, and they want a wedding fit for a fairy-tale princess. And Ludovico is such a girl. But his parents insist he's a boy and that it’s been enough of this girl-playing. After all, the whole family has moved to a new suburb where everyone protects their image of beautiful, successful and, above all, "normal" people. That's exactly what Ludovico's parents want to be, but their seven-year-old wants to wear a dress and marry his classmate Jerome, the son of her father's boss. The neighbours’ nervous smiles slowly turn into hateful deeds, the family's life gets more complicated and the parents' behaviour starts to change along with it - for the worse. With its extraordinary performances, playful dream sequences and a powerful message, My Life in Pink won the hearts of audiences all around the world in 1997 and Belgium sent it to the Oscars.
