The 20th edition of Mezipatra Queer Film Festival presents a rich accompanying program. Apart from discussions and lectures on current issues of the queer community, it also features the well-loved parties. “I'm glad the accompanying program of Mezipatra keeps expanding,” says its coordinator, Sára Němečková. “Apart from discussions and lectures on the most burning issues that press the queer community, we have managed to organize something completely new – the Queering the Industry program for all film buffs. Festival visitors definitely have a boon ready for them this year,” she concludes.

On November 7, the accompanying program in Prague will launch with Genesis opening party in Lucerna Café, following Rhys Ernst's indie comedy called Adam. The turntables will be operated by DJs Mary C, mimomrtn, and Šimon Holý. The next day, Czech Inn Bar will host an evening of film-themed drag show, Queeriety: A Mezipatra Drag Extravaganza. The festival's biggest party, Golden Times, will take place once again in the Ankali club in Vršovice. On Saturday, entertainment will be provided by the co-founder of Lecken queer collective, DJ Killa, and Still Sparkling, Ncol, and Motch. Mezipatra fans will have the opportunity to bid farewell to the 20th edition at the Pass This On party on November 13. It will take place in Lucerna Café again, with music provided by the popular DJs Urxins, StepByStep, and Tasya.

The discussions featured in the accompanying program will take place in Patra community centre and café. On November 9, Trigger Consent discussion on how to best address harassment in clubs is prepared for those interested. The negative aspects of nightlife will be discussed by DJ Killa, Mary C, and Koen Baeyens from Konsent organization. Another event here will be Learning from Porn. Learning How to Porn workshop with lecturers from the Sex School Hub education platform. Lina Bembe and Almond Lindebach will introduce the role of porn in the context of sex education.

Patra is also the venue for the new program feature in Prague part of the festival, the Queering the Industry section, dedicated not only to film professionals. On Saturday and Sunday, people can meet for example the American director Rhys Ernst, who will participate in the Mainstreaming Minorities discussion, and the producer of Beach Rats, Michael Raisler.

The only discussion hosted outside Patra Café will be the Cripping Queer Film panel in Světozor cinema. On November 11, leading theorists of ableism and handicap, Robert McRuer, David Mitchell, Kateřina Kolářová and Sharon Snyder, will discuss the depiction of queer identity and handicaps in film.

On November 15, Mezipatra will start in Brno with the Opening Evening. After the screening of Xavier Dolan's latest film, Matthias et Maxime, entertainment will be provided by DJ/VJ duo of Martin Hrdina and Michal Pavlík, TyJSITy. Mezipatra finishes in Brno with a Closing Party in Art cinema with DJs Miltz, Fofela, and Tom Holič on November 22.

Apart from parties, Brno will also offer various discussions to the visitors: the head of Jsme fér (It's Only Fair) initiative, Czeslaw Valek, will speak about the need for same-marriage equalization during the Equal Marriage discussion, and 30 Years of “Flaming” Post-Revolution Brno, or Changes in Queer Venues will present the queer history of Brno and local venues for homosexuals.
