Miss Kicki
ReunionIn order to get closer to her teenage son, Kicki invites him on a vacation to Taiwan. Their trip to the Far East turns into a journey to find themselves, love, and new relationships. The style of Håkon Liu's intimate debut resembles the early work of Wim Wenders and was successfully presented at Mezipatra as well as at the Karlovy Vary IFF.
Michal Pěchouček presents:
This unique dramatization of a slightly bizarre situation with its photogenic cast offers a surprisingly universal content. The main protagonist of the bittersweet story is Kicki, an average woman who longs for life fulfillment. Her talent, however, lies more in childish clumsiness and alcohol-fed naivety. A harmonic and seemingly secondary line is represented by her teenage son who accompanies her far from home on a journey that makes no sense. He remains fully anchored in the present, and, unlike his mother, longs for nothing and is able to accept the unexpected -- for example, a slightly more fervid friendship.
