It has always been difficult to truly be oneself and speak with one‘s own voice. As past regimes, outdated ideologies, and even many cultures and societies have shown us, people are often prevented from expressing their individuality and developing themselves fully.
The role models we should follow are often absent or difficult to identify with. Mezipatra is entering adulthood this year, which is why it wants to initiate a discussion on the diverse forms that we use to express our identity, be it film or a multitude of other ways, on who we are and on who we want to be. As a festival and a community, we are our own champions, we are truly ourselves and we hope everybody becomes their own champion as well.
