At a time when the boundaries between “our” and “their” space are becoming ever more emphasized, defining the concept of liberty is becoming pressingly relevant. Some associate it with belonging to a certain community, others feel the need to actively fight for it, either on a political or on a personal level.
The dynamics of social changes and the variety of lifestyles urge contemplation of the rules that help to determine freedom. Its manifestations and often contradictory concepts are examined by films of various genres and themes as presented at the 17th Mezipatra festival, suggesting that this year's topic, although lacking the question mark, is primarily a question.
