Lovesong
International Feature Film CompetitionWhile her husband travels most of the time, Sarah stays at home with their little daughter. Life in the countryside passes by at a slow pace, and the young housewife starts suffering from isolation and loneliness. A visit from her impulsive and carefree friend, Mindy, leads to an unplanned trip where spontaneity intertwines with sincere confessions. Sarah, however, is unable to describe how she perceives her relationship and partner, let alone articulate the emotions that meeting Mindy evoke in her. Is she even capable of admitting the exceptionality of the feelings she has for Mindy when they meet again three years later? This tender, romantic film, full of words untold, contemplates the definition of love and illustrates female experience and perception. The director's sense for poetic imagery combined with the subdued yet concentrated performances of the famous actresses Riley Keough and Jeny Maloney make for an impressive experience.
