The 25th Queer Film Festival Mezipatra concluded with its closing ceremony on Friday, November 22, at Cinema Scala, during which the Audience Award for the best film was awarded. And which film appealed to the audience the most?
During the festival, the audience was given the opportunity to vote on how they liked the film at each screening. The scoring process was the same as at school, with an A going to the film the audience liked the most and an F to the one that didn't impress them at all. After the ballots were collected, the individual votes were counted, averaged and tabulated. The film with the best overall rating won as the audience favourite.
The voting was tight as it is every year, but as everyone knows, there can only be one winner. The winner of the Audience Award at the 25th Mezipatra Film Festival is Not Yet Who I Want to Be! A film about an extraordinary woman, photographer and legend Libuše Jarcovjáková, one of the most interesting figures in Czech photography, in the form of a unique presentation by director Klára Tasovská, will grab you by the heart. Don't worry, the film is still being shown in cinemas across the country under the Aerofilms label.
The Mezipatra Festival may be successfully over, but this year's theme of Queer Liberation remains with us. Share your new film discoveries, inspire others and live happily and freely. Thank you for being a part of it, and we look forward to the 26th edition next year!
