On Friday, it was the long-awaited opening ceremony of the 25th edition of Mezipatra in Brno, accompanied by the Comics party and tons of fun, but the festival goes on! Let's take a look at how the first night went, and what's still to come in Brno.
The programme started at the Cinema Art, where the crowds gathered for the very first screening of the Latin American film Baby. Pavel Bicek, the director of Mezipatra himself, gave the opening speech for the start of the festival. This was followed by the dancers from Cabaret des Péches, who captivated the entire hall with their talent.
In addition to the café with refreshments, the visitors also enjoyed the festival's Queer shop, which offered festival merchandise, flags of all colours, badges, and even socks! The shop will be open at Cinema Art throughout the festival, so be sure to visit it!
After the screening, everyone happily made their way to the Scala university cinema, where Slovakian DJs Noona and Vesna awaited them for a night of fun and music. There was also a Craft corner on site for those who needed to recharge their social batteries, offering origami and bead-making workshops. The wildest ones stayed until the morning!
And what else awaits us? This weekend there will be more screenings at the Scala, Lucerna and Cinema Art cinemas, and on Monday you can look forward to the screening of Solo, which won the award for the Best Feature Film in Prague. So don't hesitate to come!
