A student jury evaluates the festival’s short films and hands out the award for Best Short Fiction Film.
Markéta Garai
Markéta is in her fifth year at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague studying under Jiří Petrbok. During her studies, she has gained experience in several different departments: New Media, Intermedia, Painting, and Drawing. She has held several exhibitions this year focusing on the perception of women in society and the position and freedom of women in the erotic industry. Markéta also publishes articles about contemporary art and focuses on curating activities.
Matouš Hartman
Matouš studied journalism at Charles University and is now focusing on Ibero-American Studies at the Faculty of Arts of the same university. He has worked as a photo editor for One World festival and is a member of the marketing and PR team for Prague Pride. He is interested in Spanish culture and cinema as well as in Latin American history, especially the Chilean coup.
Piaoyu Xie
Director, creative writer, interpreter, photographer and passionate visual artist Piaoyu Xie moved to Prague after finishing her studies of Cinema & Television at the Hong Kong Baptist University in 2013 to begin studying Directing at the Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Art (FAMU). She specializes in directing fiction, but is also interested in documentaries focusing on social issues. Her short film All of Me was selected from more than 2000 entries as a part of the prestigious Coups de Coeur section at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.
